This is something I used to find on the sand of the beach every day when I was a child, nowdays it rarely happens.It belongs to a shell called ASTREA RUGOSA , it actually is "the door" of the shell.It is used a lot in jewelry.Big or small,it is a lucky charm, and is beautiful.It is called Occhio di Santa Lucia, the Eye of Saint Lucia, this is probably related to the legendof the saint.

Last sunday I went with friends to a nice place close to home. It is a place where they have a vineyard and produce their own wine..that is a "cantina" in italian.There was a special event: a concert by a "quintetto" from Cagliari (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 violoncello and 1 contrabbasso) that was really emotional and free food and wine!We did enjoy ourselves!!!

Beautiful flowers... But if you try to pick them up you realize they have not the typical scent of flowers...in fact it is wild garlic ,very common in Sardinia and in the west mediterranean area.You can recognize the bulb..try to smell that too!!It blooms between January and May.
