Every summer we have turtles coming to visit us...I simply think there is a path that runs in our garden.
I remember the same turtles arriving every year when I was a child ,
and I used to stand on the shell of the big ones and they would walk slowly with me on top....
In the photos is one of the first arrived in these days, it is a young one.
In Sardinia these animals are protected now.
Many people come and just decide to take them home...
How can this be? it just a matter of brain... If you are stupid you simply like the animals and think that it would be nice to take them home with you... so as I said they decided to protect them and if you are caught with a turtle you 'll have (and deserve!) a heavy fine!
Considering the lifespan of a turtle, and what remarkable animals they are, they deserve all the protection we can give them.
